TANDOORI CHAI

Today's evening calls out for a smoky flavored Tea, yes, it's home-made Tandoori chai served in kulhads. Another unique variety of Indian tea. For this tea is prepared in usual Indian way, after that a clay pot is heated (usually in Tandoor), but I have done it on gas stove and prepared tea is poured in the hot clay pot so that it absorbs flavors of the hot clay pot.

Ingredients:

· Water - 1 cup

· Tea Leaves - 2 tbsp

· Sugar – 1 ½ tbsp

· Ginger - 1 inch (grated)

· Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp

· Milk – 1 ½ cup

· Clay Pots

Method:

· Take a saucepan add water, tea leaves, sugar, ginger. Let it brew.

· Now add milk and boil them, finally add cardamom powder.

· Turn off the flame.

· Simultaneously when you are making tea, on the other burner place the clay pot and heat it. Keep rotating while heating it. Heat it till the colour of the pot changes.

· Now place the hot clay pot in a big vessel and pour the hot tea inside it. You will see that the tea will pour out like a volcano.

· Let the tea be in the utensil for a minute.

· Serve the Tandoori Chai in kulhads.
