Raw banana fry is an easy side dish that tastes delicious. This is a mildly spiced South Indian style banana fry made with unripe bananas or plantains and a few spices. A no onion no garlic and vegan recipe that makes for an excellent side dish with South Indian meals. This has several healthy nutrients too.

Ingredients:
· Raw Banana
· Tamarind
· Chili powder
· Turmeric powder
· Hing
· Salt
· Rava
· Oil
Method:
· Wash the raw bananas and cut into halves. Peel the skin and the cut the top and bottom portion. Cut the raw banana into slices.
· You can make 4 slices from each banana.
· Add tamarind, hing and salt to the raw banana slices and keep it aside for 10-12 minutes.
· Take a small plate, mix rava, turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt.
· Heat a frying pan and spread oil on it.
· Coat the sliced raw banana in rava and arrange the rava coated slices on the frying pan one by one.
· Spread oil from the sides of the pan. Cover and cook on medium flame.
· In between, sprinkle 1 tsp water by hand over the raw banana slices, cover and cook to speed up cooking.
· After few minutes, flip to the other side, spread oil once again and fry for few more minutes.
· You can poke the centre with a knife or spoon, to check whether the raw banana is cooked and if it gets cut easily then it’s done.
· Enjoy this with any curry of your choice as an accompaniment.
