Mosaru Avalakki (sweet version) as it
is known in Karnataka combines two
favourites of Sri Krishna;
Mosaru, Dahi and Avalakki, beaten rice, poha. This is offered as naivedyam on Gokulashtami or Sri Krishna Jayanthi.

Ingredients:
· Dahi / Curd / Yogurt – 1 cup
· Thin poha flakes (beaten rice) – ½ cup
· Sugar – 3-4 tbsp (as per your preference)
· Salt – ¼ tsp
· Milk – (if the curd is very thick and very sour)
· Water for washing the poha
For tempering
· Ghee/Oil – 1 tsp
· Mustard seeds – ¾ tsp
· Cumin seeds – ¾ tsp
· Curry leaves
· Bedgi mirchi (dry) – 1-2 broken
Method:
· First wash the Poha under running water and allow to drain in a colander.
· In a mixing bowl, add curd, sugar and salt. Whisk it well. Add milk if required.
· Now add the drained poha and give a good mix.
· Heat a tadka pan on medium heat with ghee/ oil.
· Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and bedgi mirchi.
· Pour this tempering over the Poha and mix well.
· Served this poha a little chilled for breakfast.
