LADOO (For Ganapati Bappa)

Updated: Sep 27, 2023

Ladoo is one of the most popular mithai in Indian cuisine. It is a delicious sweet ball made with any flour (of your choice), sugar, ghee & cardamoms. Ganesh festival is incomplete without this sweet.

There is slight variation in the proportion for the above ladoo compared to the one that is given below:

3 cups wheat flour, 3 cups besan, 1 cup Barik rawa. Have used Bura shakar and sugar powder for the sweetness.

Ingredients: · Wheat flour – 4 cups

· Thick Besan (gram flour) – 2 cups

· Fine Rava (semolina) – 1 cup · Ghee – 250 gm approx.. · Powdered sugar – 4.5 to 5 cups · Cardamom powder Method: · Take a thick bottomed pan. Add wheat flour. · Roast the flour on low to medium heat. Stir continuously or the flour may stick to the pan and may burn. · Start adding ghee in intervals. Once the wheat flour is aromatic pour it in a bowl. · In the same pan roast the besan until it turns deep golden, and aromatic. Turn off the flame. · Transfer the roasted besan into a bowl and let it cool down a little. · Now in the same pan roast the fine rava by adding ghee at regular intervals. Turn off the flame. Once the rava is roasted well, combine the wheat flour and besan very nicely.

· Now add powdered sugar, cardamom powder and mix well. · Start making ladoos for your Bappa.

Cups in my recipe refers to any measuring glass or Vati you have at home.
