Bengali kheer komola is a fragrant, orange flavoured delightful dessert. Made this delicacy for my family to celebrate Kiss Day.
Kiss Day is considered as a golden day of the whole Valentine's week because a kiss can express your feelings in a better and more romantic way than any words could.
Don't miss to see the art work done with Oranges depicting the Love and bonding between the MOTHER & BABY Fish.
Happy Kiss Day!!
Ingredients:
· Full cream milk – 750 ml
· Sugar – 6-8 tbsp
· Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
· Saffron strands - a pinch
· Orange juice - ½ cup
· Orange segments - 3 tbsp
· Orange zest - a pinch
Method:
· Heat the milk and bring it to a rolling boil over a medium flame, in a heavy bottomed wide rimmed pot or wok.
· Reduce the flame to low and thicken the milk till it coats the back of a spoon or until the milk changes its colour to a nice cream colour. Keep stirring in between to prevent the milk from sticking to the bottom of the vessel.
· Add the sugar, cardamom powder and saffron strands, lower the flame and cook for 5 minutes more.
· Cool to room temperature and refrigerate it.
· Once it turns to be chilled enough add the orange juice, segments and zest. Give a good mix.
· Chill for at least 3 to 4 hours and garnished with chopped pistachios before serving.
