Jamun or Indian blackberry or Java Plum has great nutritional properties and is absolutely delicious. Whenever you make any spicy dishes, the perfect cooling company is Raita. So here is a twist to the simple raita with the added flavor of Jamun. Jamun Raita as a seasonal fruit dish has a unique flavor and tangy taste. A must try!!!
Ingredients:
· Fresh Jamun (Java plum) – 250 gms (deseeded)
· Sugar – ½ cup (as per your preference)
· Black salt – ¼ tsp
· Chaat masala – ¼ tsp
· Cumin powder – 1 tsp
· Mint leaves – handful
· Lemon juice of one lemon
· Salt
· Curd (as per your requirement)
Method:
· Wash the jamun nicely and deseed it.
· Take a mixer jar add deseeded jamuns, sugar, black salt, chaat masala, lemon juice, salt and little crushed ice. Blend it, and now add mint leaves and blend it again.
· The consistency of the mixture will be very thick and pulpy.
· You can store this in a glass jar for 4-5 days and use it whenever required.
· Now take a bowl with curd in it, whisk it well. Add the thick and pulpy jamun mixture and give a good mix.
· Decorate it with mint leaves and serve this refreshing summer coolant raita.
