INSTANT KHAMAN (Made using Chitale Foods packet)

Light, fluffy, soft and a delectable snack made using Chital’s Instant Khaman Mix. A quick recipe that can be made for breakfast, evening snacks or can also be served as a side dish for meal.


Ingredients:

For Khaman:

· Chitale foods Khaman mix - 200 gm

· Water 200 ml

For Tempering:

· Oil – 20 gms

· Mustard seeds - 1 tsp

· Hing – ¼ tsp

· Green chilli – 2-3 (slit)

· Curry leaves – 1 sprig

· Water – 60 ml

Grated coconut and finely chopped Coriander leaves to garnish.

Method:

· Place a cooker/Pressure cooker on medium flame with water in it.

· Pour the khaman mix in a large mixing bowl, add water and mix it very slowly into the batter.

· Allow the batter to rest for 5 minutes without disturbing it.

· Grease the dishes that will fit into the cooker. Pour the batter into these dishes. Place the same in the cooker. Close the lid. And steam for 15 mins without the whistle.

· Turn off the flame. Allow the khaman to cool for 5 minutes and later cut into pieces,

· For tempering heat oil in a small tempering pan, add mustard seeds, hing, slit green chilies and curry leaves. Allow oil to cool for 2 mins and add 60 ml of water and sprinkle this mix evenly over the khaman.

· Garnish with grated coconut and chopped coriander leaves.

· Serve with mint chutney.
