Navratri Day 1: Yellow 💛
On the first day of Navratri, Maa Shailputri is worshipped. Known as the reincarnation of Sati, Maa Shailputri is known as the purest form of Goddess🙏🌹.

Today's offering is HARIDRANNA also known as chitranna or nimmakaya pulihora is a tangy dish made with lentils, spices, nuts. The nuts give a nutty flavor and crunch. Lime juice, aromatic herbs and spices combine perfectly to give this rice an amazing spicy, tangy flavor.

Ingredients:
For Rice
· Ghee – 2 tbsp
· Cashew nuts – 8-10 (optional)
· Peanuts – ½ cup
· Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
· Urad Dal – 1.5 tsp
· Chana Dal – 1.5 tsp
· Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
· Green chilies – 1-2 (chopped or slit)
· Ginger – 1 inch (grated)
· Curry Leaves – 1 Sprig
· Dried red chilies – 1-2 (broken)
· Asafoetida/ Hing – ¼ tsp
· Turmeric – ¼ tsp
· Salt
· Rice – 2 cups ( fresh rice should be cooled completely,)
· Lemon – ½
· Finely chopped coriander leaves
Method:
· Take a kadai with ghee, add peanuts, roast it till it turns crispy.
· Now add chana dal, udid dal, cumin seeds and mustard seeds in the kadai. Let the tempering’s splutter on low flame.
· Now add curry leaves, green chilies, ginger, dried red chilies and cashew nuts. Roast everything till it turns crunchy.
· Add hing, turmeric powder and salt. Keep the flame very low.
· Now thr freshly prepared cooled rice and mix it well.
· Add the roasted cashew nuts and peanuts.
· Add lemon juice for making the rice a little moist and flavourful.
· Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
· Finally garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with curd, pickle and salad.
