HARBHARA CHAAT (FRESH GREEN CHICKPEAS)

Harbhara chaat is a winter speciality recipe which is made from healthy fresh green chana and is mildly tempered with Indian spices. Healthy and nutritious snacks which can be enjoyed during winters.

Ingredients:

· Harbhara chana – 1 ½ cups · Oil – 2 tsp · Cumin seeds – 1 tsp · Asafoetida (Hing) – ¼ tsp · Green chillies – 2 (slit) · Black salt – ¼ tsp · Chilli powder – ¼ tsp · Coriander leaves (finely chopped) · Lemon juice – 1 tsp · Salt

Method:

· Wash the fresh harbhara chana, and cook them in water for 7-8 minutes with little salt. · Turn off the flame, drain the water and add cold water. Drain again and keep it aside. · Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, asafoetida, green chillies. Sauté for 1-2 minutes. · Now add the cooked harabhara chana and cook on a medium flame for 2-3 minutes, stir occasionally. · Now add black salt, chilli powder and salt. Mix well and add the coriander leaves. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Add lemon juice, mix well and turn off the flame. · Serve the harbhara chaat hot with quarter lemon (optional).
