GULAB JAMUN using MTR mix

Gulab jamun a quintessential to celebrate any occasion. The traditional Indian dessert., almost everyone's favorite. I am sure it does not require description. Made this using MTR Gulab jamun mix.

Ingredients: For the sugar syrup · Sugar - 700 gms · Water – 700 gms · Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp · Rose essence – 1 tsp For the sugar syrup · MTR Gulab jamun mix – 175 gms packet · Water/Milk (for kneading) · Oil/Ghee (for frying) Method: · Take a utensil, add sugar and water to make sugar syrup. Stir at regular intervals. · Boil for 5 minutes or until syrup turns sticky. · For additional flavour add cardamom powder and rose essence. Keep it aside. · Take a mixing bowl add MTR Gulab jamun mix. · Add milk and mix gently to form the dough. You can replace it with water, but I have added milk. · Add ghee and make a soft and smooth dough without over kneading. · Grease the hand with ghee and prepare small ball sized jamuns. · Heat the oil / ghee on medium flame and when the oil / ghee is moderately hot, fry the jamuns. · Fry the jamun balls on low flame, so that it cooks evenly from inside too. · Now drop the fried Gulab jamuns into the warm sugar syrup. · Let the jamuns rest for 25-30 minutes. · Enjoy scrumptious MTR Gulab Jamun with your family and friends.
