SWEET MOONG KHICHDI
Ingredients:
· Moong – 1 cup
· Jaggery – 1 cup (as per your preference)
· Grated coconut – ¾ cup
· Cardamom powder – 5-6 pods
· Ghee – 1.5 tbsp
· Pinch of salt
Method:
· Take a thick bottomed pan, add moong and roast for 5-6 minutes until it turns aromatic.
· Let the moong cool, wash it and pressure cook the moong by adding 3 cups of water. Let it whistle 5-6 times on medium flame. Turn off the flame and let it depressurize.
· Once depressurized remove it from the cooker.
· Take a thick bottomed pan add the cooked moong and jaggery. Keep the flame on medium low heat. Keep stirring occasionally.
· Once it starts thickening add grated coconut, ghee and salt. Mix it well.
· Cook it for another 4-5 minutes. Turn off the flame.
· Moong Khichdi is ready for Naivedyam.
