Traditional old recipe from my native Karwar, Dry Shrimps chutney. We call it shatli (Shrimps) chutney in kannada.
This goes off well as a side dish along with rice and any gravy.
Ingredients:
· Dry Shrimp – ¾ cup
· Onion – 2 medium sized (chopped)
· Coconut oil – 1 tbsp
For Chutney
· Freshly grated coconut – ¾ cup
· Dry red chillies – 3-4
· Garlic – 6-7
· Black pepper – 7-8
· Vate hulli (in kannada) – 2-3 for sourness
· Salt
· Very little water

Method:
· Take a pan, dry roast the dried shrimp on medium flame till it is crisp and cooked. Keep this aside.
· Take a mixer jar add the ingredients mentioned for the chutney. Remember not add too much water.
· Now take a mixing bowl add the chopped onions, coconut oil, chutney and roasted dried shrimp.
· Mix it thoroughly. This is ready to be served as a side dish with rice and any curry of your choice.
