Bajra also called as Pearl millet in English, has so many health benefits. As bajra is rich in fiber, it helps in weight loss, best suitable for Diabetic people. I have served this roti with stuffed brinjal and green garlic thecha (hare lehsun ki chutney). Best combo to have it during winters.
Ingredients:
· Bajra flour – 2 cups
· Water – 2 cups
· Oil – 1 tsp
· Salt – ¾ tsp (adjust as per your preference)
Method:
· Take a big kadai add 2 cups of water, 1 tsp oil and ¾ tsp salt.
· Once it comes to a boil add bajra flour and give a good mix.
· Turn off the lid and immediately cover it with a lid.
· After 5-7 minutes transfer it in a big plate.
· Be careful it must be very hot, now knead to form a smooth dough by dipping your hand in water.
· Make a smooth and soft dough. And now make a ball sized dough and knead again.
· Roll the ball in the wheat flour and start rolling.
· You may again use wheat flour to roll it and make it bigger in size.
· Now heat a tawa and start frying the roti.
· Once you see that the roti has started puffing turn it over.
· Let it cook on the other side and flip again. At this time, you can also put the roti on direct flame.
· Now remove it from the tawa/direct flame and put it on a cloth.
· Continue frying all the roti’s in the same manner.
· After one or two roti’s use a wet cloth to wipe the tawa.
· Serve this with any vegetable or chutney of your choice.
